As part of the play-off round of the Europa League, we will see an interesting confrontation between Ajax and Jagiellonia!
Ajax are slowly coming back to normal after a failed season 2023/24, which they finished only in fifth position in the Eredivisie. In the European Cups, the Amsterdammers have already defeated Vojvodina (1-0, 3-1) and Panathinaikos (1-0, 1-1), but in the league they clearly lacked stability with Heerenveen (1-0) and Breda (1-2).
Thanks to their first ever league title, Jagiellonia had a chance to represent Poland in the Champions League qualification - there they defeated Panevezys (4:0, 3:1), but stumbled against Bodo/Glimt (0:1, 1:4). And in a recent domestic meeting, the Yellow-Reds couldn't do anything with GKS Katowice - 1:3.
After 4:1 in Bialystok, Ajax only need to confirm their success at home, with the active support of the home crowd. Given the rather large difference in class between the teams, we predict a success of the Dutch with at least a twofold advantage in the score.
