Last year's Copa America finalists Argentina and Colombia will play each other in the sixteenth round of selection for the World Cup-2026.
With 34 points and a goal difference of 27:8 Argentina not only qualified for the Mundial ahead of schedule, but also guaranteed themselves a first-place finish. In the last five meetings Scaloni's wards defeated Peru 1-0, Uruguay 1-0, Argentina U20 2-0, Brazil 4-1 and Chile 1-0.
In a similar stretch, Colombia misfired against Uruguay (2:3), Ecuador (0:1), Brazil (1:2), Paraguay (2:2) and Peru (0:0). As a result, the Coffeys dropped to sixth place with 21 points and a goal statistic of 18:14, still having a high chance of qualifying for the Mundial.
In my opinion, Argentina will not miss another opportunity to show their high skill - it is unlikely that crisis Colombia will prevent this, even on the road.
