Austria vs San Marino Prediction 9 October 2025
Added on 06 October, 2025
On Thursday evening in Vienna, Austria will host San Marino in their sixth match of the 2026 World Cup qualifying campaign.
Austria currently sits second in the group with 12 points and a 9:2 goal difference, trailing the leaders only on tiebreakers. Ralf Rangnick’s side has been impressive in official competition, winning all four qualifiers so far — against Romania (2:1), San Marino (4:0), Cyprus (1:0), and Bosnia (2:1).
San Marino, meanwhile, remains rooted to the bottom of the standings with five defeats and a combined goal difference of 1:18 — a continuation of the struggles that have defined the microstate’s footballing history. Since March, the Blue and Whites have lost to Cyprus (0:2), Romania (1:5), Bosnia (0:1, 0:6), and Austria (0:4).
The only real question in Vienna is how much Austria can boost its goal difference — a potentially crucial factor in the race for the top spot. Given the disparity in class, another dominant win seems inevitable, and a margin of five or more goals would not be surprising.
Austria to win with -4.5 Asian handicap 1.69
