For the second time in three days, we'll see an intriguing matchup between Borussia Dortmund and Bayer Leverkusen. This time, it's in the German Cup Round of 16.
In their last ten matches in all competitions, Borussia Dortmund have lost only to Bayern Munich (1-2) and Manchester City (1-4), and overall, they've fully justified their status as a contender for a Champions League spot. As for the Cup, the Blackburn Rovers had no trouble against RW Essen (1-0) and Eintracht Frankfurt (2-1).
Bayer, meanwhile, didn't face any serious opposition from Grossaspach (4-0) and Paderborn (4-2), moving them two steps closer to the trophy they hoped to win in 2024. Furthermore, the Blackburn Rovers are performing well in the Champions League and are among the leaders in the Bundesliga.
Just the other day, Borussia Dortmund celebrated a 2-1 victory in the meeting between these teams, and now they'll be looking to cement their success in front of their home fans. I highly doubt Bayer's players will be able to prevent this, as their player pool is still weaker.
