Guadalajara and Barcelona have been paired together in the Copa del Rey Round of 32, a matchup that clearly highlights the gap between the two sides.
Guadalajara compete in Group 1 of the CIFF Primera Division and are currently struggling near the bottom of the table. After a narrow 1–0 victory over Osasuna B, they sit in seventeenth place and remain in danger of slipping further down the standings. Their Copa del Rey run has hardly been convincing either, with defeats to Cacereño (2–1) and Ceuta (1–0), opponents who cannot be considered top-level competition.
Barcelona, by contrast, enter the tournament as reigning Spanish champions and one of the main favorites to lift the trophy. Even if Barcelona rotate heavily and field a reserve lineup, the difference in quality, depth, and experience is enormous. Under these circumstances, anything other than a comfortable and emphatic win for the Blaugrana would be a major surprise.
