Added on 12 November, 2025
The Luxembourg and Germany national teams will meet again in Group A on matchday five of the 2026 World Cup qualifiers.
Luxembourg currently sits at the bottom of the group with zero points and a goal difference of 1:10. The Red Lions have endured a difficult campaign, suffering defeats not only to heavyweights Germany (0–4) but also to more modest opponents such as Northern Ireland (1–3) and Slovakia (0–1, 0–2).
Germany, meanwhile, tops the table with nine points and a superior goal difference of 8:3. Julian Nagelsmann’s side has recorded two wins over Northern Ireland (3–1, 1–0) and a dominant 4–0 victory over Luxembourg. Their only setback came in the opening round, when Slovakia pulled off a surprise 2–0 win.
Given the gulf in class, Germany is expected to dominate once again in the return fixture. Beyond securing three points, Nagelsmann’s men will be eager to boost their goal tally to strengthen their position ahead of the decisive stage of the qualifiers.
Germany to win with -2.5 Asian handicap 1.79
