The London derby between Crystal Palace and Chelsea will be played this Sunday as part of the 23rd round of the Premier League.
Crystal Palace have not recorded a domestic win since early December and have slipped to 13th place with 28 points and a goal difference of 23–25. In their last five matches, the Eagles drew 1–1 with Fulham and 0–0 with Aston Villa, while suffering defeats to Tottenham (0–1), Newcastle (0–2), and Sunderland (1–2).
Chelsea, meanwhile, have produced mixed results of late. The Blues lost to Aston Villa (1–2) and Fulham (1–2), drew with Bournemouth (2–2) and Manchester City (1–1), and secured a solid 2–0 victory over Brentford. Sitting sixth with 34 points and a goal difference of 36–24, Chelsea remain well short of their ambition to return to the Champions League.
Although Crystal Palace appear to be in decline, they traditionally raise their level for city derbies. A draw would not be a major surprise here, while Chelsea may also have to settle for a narrow victory despite their superior quality.
