Czech Republic vs Republic of Ireland Prediction 26 March 2026
Added on 22 March, 2026
The Czech Republic and Ireland meet in the 2026 World Cup qualifying playoff in a matchup that slightly favors the hosts but still carries some intrigue.
The Czechs had a disappointing Euro 2024 campaign, exiting in the group stage, but bounced back by winning their Nations League B group. They also finished second in their World Cup qualifying group and come into this clash on the back of wins over San Marino (1–0) and Gibraltar (6–0), results that, while expected, help build momentum.
Ireland, meanwhile, have struggled for consistency and have not qualified for a major tournament in a decade. However, their recent run of three wins over Armenia (1–0), Portugal (2–1), and Hungary (3–2) suggests a team capable of competing when confidence is high. That said, their overall level remains questionable compared to stronger European sides.
With home advantage on their side, the Czech Republic appear better positioned to progress, but Ireland’s renewed belief could make this a competitive encounter. A closely fought game with goals at both ends would not be surprising.
Both teams to score 1.87
