England vs Japan Prediction 31 March 2026
Added on 29 March, 2026
FIFA’s March international window continues on Tuesday with a friendly between England and Japan.
England come into the match after a 1–1 draw with Uruguay, a result unlikely to concern them given their status as one of the main contenders for the upcoming World Cup. Under Thomas Tuchel, the Three Lions were flawless in qualifying, winning every match, including convincing victories over Wales (3–0), Latvia (5–0), Serbia (2–0), and Albania (2–0).
Japan, however, are no pushovers and have clear ambitions of making a deep run at the World Cup. The Blue Samurai enjoyed a strong run of recent friendlies, drawing with Paraguay (2–2) and defeating Brazil (3–2), Ghana (2–0), and Bolivia (3–0). They also secured an impressive 1–0 win away to Scotland.
That said, England represent a step up in quality compared to Japan’s recent opponents. Playing on home soil and looking to end the March camp on a positive note, England are likely to approach this match with intensity. While Japan have the tools to compete, England should have the edge and will aim to secure a win.
