The rescheduled Merseyside derby between Everton and Liverpool is set for next midweek as part of the Premier League's fifteenth round.
Everton started January with narrow 0:1 losses to Bournemouth and Aston Villa but quickly turned things around with three consecutive victories—over Tottenham (3:2), Brighton (1:0), and Leicester (4:0). While the Toffees remain in 16th place with 26 points and a 23:28 goal difference, their survival in the league is no longer in serious doubt.
Liverpool, meanwhile, sits comfortably atop the table with 56 points and a 56:21 goal record. In 2025, the Reds have already secured wins against Brentford (2:0), Ipswich (4:1), and Bournemouth (2:0), while drawing 2:2 with Manchester United and 1:1 with Nottingham.
