The opening match of La Liga’s 11th round will see Getafe host Girona on Friday evening.
Just days ago, Getafe pulled off a surprise 1-0 victory over Champions League contenders Athletic Club, climbing to tenth place with 14 points and a 10–12 goal difference. Girona, meanwhile, have shown signs of recovery after a poor start to the season. Despite the recent improvement, the Catalan club still sit near the bottom with just seven points and a 9–22 goal difference.
Girona’s attack has begun to find its rhythm, while Getafe tend to concede regularly regardless of opposition. I expect the visitors to find the net at least once — a goal that could earn them a valuable point in Madrid.
