Lithuania vs Netherlands Prediction 7 September 2025

In the sixth round of Group G in the 2026 World Cup qualifiers, the Netherlands will visit Lithuania, a team struggling at the bottom of the group and far from posing a serious threat.

Lithuania’s recent form has been dismal, with just three draws and seven defeats in their last ten matches, firmly placing them among the weakest teams in UEFA. In the current World Cup qualification campaign, the Yellow-Greens lost narrowly to Poland (0:1) and managed only draws against Finland (2:2) and Malta (0:0, 1:1), highlighting their defensive vulnerabilities and lack of attacking threat.

By contrast, the Netherlands have looked dominant so far, defeating Finland 2:0 and thrashing Malta 8:0, before unexpectedly drawing 1:1 with Poland. Even with a game in hand over some of their rivals, the Oranje sit at the top of the group, boasting seven points and a commanding goal difference of 11:1.

The surprising stalemate with Poland is likely to serve as motivation rather than a setback, spurring the Dutch players to maintain focus and intensity in upcoming matches. Against a team as fragile as Lithuania, the Netherlands should have little difficulty asserting control and racking up both points and goals.

Given the disparity in quality, Lithuania is unlikely to mount significant resistance, and the Oranje are expected to capitalize fully on the encounter, aiming to continue their strong start and reinforce their position as favorites in the group.
