MeridianBet Expands B2B Operations into Nigeria with Regulatory Approval
Added on 14 March, 2025
MeridianBet has expanded its footprint in Africa by introducing its B2B offerings to the Nigerian market, following regulatory approval from the Lagos State Lotteries and Gaming Authority (LSLGA).
This certification allows the Golden Matrix subsidiary to supply its technology and services to operators in Nigeria through its newly licensed local entity, Masterlive Network Limited.
This milestone builds on MeridianBet’s two decades of operations across the African continent. Nigeria, with its rapidly growing gaming industry and highly engaged player base, represents a strategic market for the company’s B2B model. By leveraging its AI-powered betting solutions and localized expertise, MeridianBet aims to enhance the operational capabilities of its partners in the region.
Commenting on the expansion, Zoran Milosevic, CEO of MeridianBet, stated: “Our expansion into Nigeria marks a significant step in our long-term strategy to deepen our presence in Africa’s most dynamic gaming markets. With a highly engaged player base and strong industry growth, Nigeria presents a major opportunity for our B2B model. We are committed to bringing our cutting-edge technology, AI-powered betting solutions, and localized expertise to drive long-term success for our partners in the region.”
This latest regulatory approval follows a period of significant growth for Golden Matrix. The company reported Q3 2024 revenue of $41 million in December, marking an 85% year-on-year increase. MeridianBet has also been expanding its global presence, having secured a sponsorship deal for the Maltese FA Cup in August 2024 and entering the Brazilian market through a partnership with Integrity Compliance 360. Additionally, Golden Matrix recently submitted a bid to enter the Ontario market, further strengthening its international ambitions.
Meanwhile, elsewhere in the African gambling sector, the Ghanaian Institute of Economic Affairs raised concerns this week regarding the government’s proposed removal of the country’s 10% betting tax, a move that could have significant implications for the industry.
With its entry into Nigeria, MeridianBet continues to reinforce its position as a key player in the global gaming landscape, bringing innovative solutions to one of Africa’s most promising markets.
