Norway vs Sweden Prediction 1 June 2026

Although this is only a friendly, matches between these rivals are rarely short on intensity. Both teams have secured places at the World Cup, making this an excellent opportunity to test themselves against high-quality opposition before the tournament begins.

Norway enjoyed an outstanding qualification campaign and fully deserved its place at the World Cup. Ståle Solbakken’s side finished top of its group after winning every match, while the attack proved particularly impressive throughout the campaign. With Erling Haaland leading the line, Norway consistently overwhelmed opponents and finished with one of the strongest offensive records in qualification. Although recent friendlies produced mixed results against the Netherlands and Switzerland, the overall trajectory of the team remains extremely positive.

Sweden also achieved its objective by reaching the World Cup, coming through the playoffs under new manager Graham Potter. The Swedes showed resilience in victories over Ukraine and Poland, but they enter this match with a few concerns. The absence of Viktor Gyökeres removes one of their most dangerous attacking weapons, and facing Norway away from home is never an easy assignment. Sweden remains a disciplined and well-organized side, but recent performances suggest the hosts currently have the stronger squad.

In our opinion, Norway deserves to be considered the favorite. The hosts possess greater attacking firepower, arrive with confidence after a superb qualifying campaign, and have already beaten Sweden in each of the last two meetings between the teams. With Haaland available and the match taking place in Oslo, Norway appears well positioned to continue its strong run against its Scandinavian rivals.
