The second round of Ligue 1 starts with a match in Paris, where local PSG will host a solid mid-table team Montpellier!
During the entire pre-season training camp, PSG were remembered only for two draws with Sturm (2:2) and RB Leipzig (1:1), which inspired thoughts about a crisis within the team. However, the spectacular 4:1 victory over Le Havre showed that Enrique's charges are acting completely differently at the official level.
In preparation for the new campaign, Montpellier beat Martigues (3:1), and also stumbled in confrontations with Girona (3:3), Southampton (1:3), Saint-Etienne (1:2), Fiorentina (1:2) and Mainz (1:3). And in the opening league game with Strasbourg (1:1) the Paladins did not look their best.
The obvious favorites of this pair are the hosts, whose level is noticeably higher. And since PSG are currently in excellent shape, we expect a more convincing victory from them than with a difference of one goal.
