Portugal vs Armenia Prediction 16 November 2025
Added on 14 November, 2025
The sixth round of the 2026 World Cup qualifiers in Group F brings a lopsided matchup on paper, as Portugal look to assert their superiority once again when they host bottom-placed Armenia.
Portugal opened their qualifying campaign in dominant fashion, sweeping aside Armenia 5–0 before edging Hungary 3–2 and defeating Ireland 1–0. Their momentum dipped slightly in the return fixtures, with Hungary holding them to a 2–2 draw and Ireland pulling off a surprise 2–0 win. Even so, Roberto Martínez’s side remain group leaders with 10 points and a goal difference of 11–6, retaining control of their path toward qualification.
Armenia’s situation is far less optimistic. With only three points and a goal difference of 2–10, the Red-Whites sit at the bottom of the standings with virtually no prospect of climbing higher. Their lone success came in a 2–1 home win over Ireland, which they failed to replicate away in a 1–0 loss. Against the group’s stronger sides, Armenia have consistently fallen short, losing 0–5 to Portugal and 0–2 and 0–1 in their meetings with Hungary.
The gulf in quality and form between the teams is difficult to ignore. Portugal possess superior individual talent, greater depth, and far more at stake, especially after dropping points in recent outings. For Armenia, the challenge will be simply to remain competitive and avoid another heavy defeat.
Given the context, a one-sided encounter appears highly likely. Portugal have both the motivation and the firepower to control the match from start to finish, and a clean-sheet victory for the hosts seems a realistic expectation.
Portugal to win with clean sheet 1.63
