Portugal vs Spain Prediction 8 June 2025

The grand finale of the fourth UEFA Nations League edition sees Portugal face off against Spain on Sunday evening in Munich’s neutral arena.

Both sides have taken exciting routes to the decider, promising a high-stakes showdown between two of Europe’s most elite national teams.

Portugal arrives in strong form, having staged a dramatic turnaround against Denmark in the quarterfinals (0:1, 5:2) and edging out tournament hosts Germany 2:1 in the semis. This run continues the Seleção’s recent competitive pedigree, following their solid Euro 2024 campaign where they reached the quarterfinals and were only eliminated by France in a tense penalty shootout.

Spain, however, come in as reigning European champions and boast a near-perfect Nations League record. They collected 16 points from six group matches against Serbia, Denmark, and Switzerland, then survived two rollercoaster knockout games—first eliminating the Netherlands (2:2, 4:3), then France in a 5:4 thriller. Their attacking fluidity and tactical cohesion have made them favorites in nearly every outing.

While Spain may have the edge in technical depth and momentum, Portugal has shown resilience and firepower that can trouble any defense. Given the attacking quality on both sides and neither team likely to play conservatively, a high-tempo battle with goals at both ends looks a strong possibility.

Both teams to score 1.55
