RB Leipzig arrive in excellent overall shape. With 29 points and a 29–16 goal difference, the Red Bulls sit second in the table and are firmly on course for a Champions League place. Their home form has been particularly impressive of late, highlighted by dominant victories over Werder Bremen (2–0) and Eintracht Frankfurt (6–0). However, away from Leipzig they have been far less convincing, dropping points against Hoffenheim (1–3), Borussia Mönchengladbach (0–0), and Union Berlin (1–3).

Bayer Leverkusen have also shown plenty of attacking flair during the same stretch. Convincing wins over Heidenheim (6–0), Wolfsburg (3–1), and Cologne (2–0) underline their offensive quality, but costly defeats to Borussia Dortmund (1–2) and Augsburg (0–2) have slowed their climb up the table. As things stand, Leverkusen occupy fourth place with 26 points and a 30–19 goal difference.

Both sides play bold, attacking football and are rarely short of goals. Given RB Leipzig’s strength at home and Leverkusen’s ability to score against anyone, this looks set up for an open contest. The hosts should have enough to avoid defeat, but keeping a clean sheet against Leverkusen’s attack seems unlikely.
