Real Madrid CF vs Levante UD Prediction 17 January 2026

La Liga’s 20th matchday continues in Madrid, where Real Madrid welcome relegation-threatened Levante.

Real Madrid come into this fixture after a turbulent spell. They recently suffered a dramatic 3–2 defeat to Barcelona in the Spanish Super Cup final, followed by the unexpected resignation of head coach Xabi Alonso. Despite the off-field shock, Los Blancos have been solid in the league, recording victories over Athletic Bilbao (3–0), Alavés (2–1), Sevilla (2–0), and Betis (5–1), with their only recent setback being a 0–2 loss to Celta Vigo. They currently sit second in the table with 45 points and a strong 41–17 goal difference.

Levante, meanwhile, are struggling near the bottom. Committed to attacking football but lacking defensive stability, they finished the first half of the season in 19th place with just 14 points and a 21–30 goal difference. Their recent run includes a surprise 3–0 win over Sevilla, defeats to Athletic Bilbao (0–2) and Osasuna (0–2), and draws against Real Sociedad (1–1) and Espanyol (1–1).

In my view, Real Madrid should face little resistance at home against an opponent that has consistently struggled at the back. If the hosts approach the match seriously — and get an early goal — Los Blancos could even be in line for a comfortable, high-scoring victory.
