Sporting CP vs FK Bodo/Glimt Prediction 17 March 2026
Added on 15 March, 2026
Sporting will try to overcome a three-goal deficit against Bodø/Glimt in the second leg of the Champions League Round of 16.
Sporting sensationally secured a top-eight finish in the league stage, which helped them avoid two extra playoff matches. Domestically, the Lions remain a formidable force, currently sitting second in the standings. They didn't play this week due to a postponement, and earlier, the Lisbon giants drew 2-2 with Braga.
Bodø/Glimt are unlikely to start their Norwegian league campaign anytime soon, as they are currently making history in the Champions League. As a reminder, the Black and Yellows stormed into the playoffs with heroic victories over Manchester City (3-1) and Atlético Madrid (2-1), where they delivered an equally sensational victory over Inter (3-1, 2-1).
In my opinion, Sporting will be the more competitive team at home, although their chances of a comeback are practically zero. Since the hosts will have to take a lot of risks, and Bodø/Glimt are ready to punish them on the counterattack, I expect both teams to produce high-scoring football.
