Sweden vs Greece Prediction 4 June 2026
Added on 04 June, 2026
Sweden and Greece meet in Solna on June 4 in an international friendly as both sides continue their preparations ahead of the new campaign.
The hosts will be eager to bounce back from a recent setback, while the visitors arrive looking to prove they can compete with one of Scandinavia's strongest teams.
Sweden endured a disappointing World Cup qualifying campaign, finishing bottom of their group without recording a victory. The federation responded with a managerial change, appointing Graham Potter, and results soon improved. The Swedes secured their place at the World Cup through the playoffs, defeating Ukraine 3-1 in the semifinals before edging Poland 3-2 in a dramatic qualifier. However, their latest outing ended in a 3-1 defeat to Norway, exposing defensive vulnerabilities that have troubled the team for some time. To make matters more challenging, star striker Viktor Gyökeres is unavailable, leaving Alexander Isak to shoulder much of the attacking responsibility.
Greece once again fell short in their bid to qualify for a major tournament. Despite being placed in a manageable qualifying group, they finished third and missed out on the World Cup. Their recent form has also been underwhelming, with a narrow defeat to Paraguay followed by a goalless draw against Hungary during the March international window. Still, head coach Ivan Jovanović has named a strong squad for this camp, including key attacking threats Christos Tzolis and Vangelis Pavlidis.
While Sweden have the benefit of home advantage, their recent performances offer little guarantee of success. Defensive issues remain a concern, and the absence of Gyökeres weakens an attack that already struggled for consistency. Greece may not be in outstanding form themselves, but they arrive with a near full-strength squad and enough quality to make life difficult for the hosts. A closely contested encounter appears likely, and Sweden may find it harder than expected to come away with a victory.
Greece no to lose 1.72
