BB Gaming Secures Federal License to Operate in Brazil Until 2031

The approval was granted by the Secretariat of Prizes and Betting (SPA), which operates under Brazil’s Ministry of Finance.

The authorization was formalized through Ordinance SPA/MF No. 92/2026, signed by SPA Secretary Regis Dudena. Under the terms of the ordinance, BB Gaming is permitted to operate nationwide via its BRA brand, accessible through bra.bet.br. The license is valid until January 2031 and allows the company to offer fixed-odds sports betting and online gaming services.

BB Gaming’s approval is fully aligned with Brazil’s updated regulatory framework for betting and gaming, established under Law No. 14,790/2023. This legislation set out the legal basis for regulating virtual betting operations, licensing requirements, and compliance standards, forming the backbone of Brazil’s newly regulated gambling market.

Headquartered in São Paulo, BB Gaming has declared a share capital of BR35 million (approximately $6.5 million). According to records from Brazil’s Federal Revenue Service, the company’s primary registered business activity is the operation of gambling and betting services. Its corporate structure includes multiple administrators as well as a mix of domestic and foreign corporate shareholders, reflecting the international interest in Brazil’s betting sector.

With the authorization of BB Gaming, Brazil now counts 83 operators holding a total of 86 licenses to provide fixed-odds betting and online gaming services. Of these, 83 licenses have been granted through standard regulatory approval, while three operators continue to function under provisional Federal Court rulings. Collectively, these authorizations cover 193 registered betting brands.

In a public statement, BB Gaming described the license as a defining achievement, noting that it “reinforces our commitment to legality, transparency, governance and responsible gaming.” The company added that its entry into the regulated market supports the creation of a safer, more sustainable, and well-supervised betting environment in Brazil.

The approval comes amid strong interest in Brazil’s newly regulated betting market, with the Ministry of Finance currently reviewing applications from 25 additional companies seeking authorization.
