Betano Secures Title Sponsorship of Supertaça Cândido de Oliveira
Betano has been unveiled as the new title sponsor of the Supertaça Cândido de Oliveira, further solidifying its growing presence in Portuguese football.

The agreement, effective immediately, means the upcoming 2025 edition of the prestigious curtain-raiser will officially be known as the Supertaça Cândido de Oliveira Betano.

The partnership was jointly announced by Betano and the Portuguese Football Federation (FPF), marking a significant step forward in the brand’s long-term commitment to national football. The 2024 Supertaça, scheduled for 31 July at the Estádio Algarve and contested by fierce rivals Sporting CP and SL Benfica, will be the first to carry Betano’s title sponsorship.

Betano, a prominent online gaming operator active in Portugal for the past six years, has a growing international footprint in sports sponsorship. Beyond Portuguese football, the brand has recently expanded its portfolio by becoming an official sponsor of the Copa América Femenina 2025, to be held in Ecuador from 12 July to 2 August. Betano also holds a partnership with FIFA, having supported the 2022 World Cup in Qatar and recently becoming the official South American partner for the FIFA Club World Cup 2025.

João Medeiros Cardoso, Director of Marketing and New Business at the FPF, highlighted the significance of the collaboration: “We embrace this partnership with great excitement, as it involves a brand that will undoubtedly elevate the Super Cup. This marks a boost in the competition’s growth, driven by this new leadership, which will help reposition Portuguese football as one of the world’s leading footballing brands.”

In addition to naming rights, the partnership will feature a series of fan-focused initiatives and matchday activations designed to enhance the Supertaça experience. These events are part of a broader strategy to make the competition more engaging and accessible to supporters.

Ricardo Branquinho, Betano’s Country Manager for Portugal, echoed the enthusiasm: “We are extremely proud to associate Betano with the Supertaça Cândido de Oliveira as its Title Sponsor, reinforcing our connection with the Portuguese Football Federation. We aim to continue elevating sports sponsorship in Portugal by bringing fans closer to the game they love.”

This latest deal cements Betano’s role as a major player in football sponsorship, both domestically and on the international stage.
