Digitain Secures Belgian Gaming Licence as European Expansion Continues

The newly obtained licence allows Digitain to supply its full suite of services to operators in Belgium, including turnkey and API solutions. Central to its offering are the company’s iGaming platforms, Centrivo Dynamics and Centrivo Universal, which provide operators with flexibility to integrate multiple gaming verticals and third-party plug-ins.

The achievement forms part of Digitain’s broader European growth strategy. Earlier in 2025, the company expanded its Maltese operations by appointing Aida Vardanyan as CEO of Malta and Gil Soffer as Chief Commercial Officer. This followed a strategic partnership with LeBull in Poland in October 2024, a deal that further cemented its presence in Eastern Europe.

Digitain has also been targeting opportunities beyond Europe. In January 2025, the company became one of the first suppliers to secure certification in Brazil, an emerging and highly competitive iGaming market. Prior to that, it entered the Caribbean through a partnership with Colombo Sport in the Dominican Republic. Meanwhile, its internal growth continued with the appointment of Mary Ann Calleja as Chief People Officer in June, adding more than two decades of industry expertise to its leadership team.

Belgium represents a particularly notable milestone in this trajectory. The Belgian market is considered one of the most tightly regulated gaming jurisdictions in Europe, with strict compliance standards designed to promote fair play and responsible gambling. Digitain highlighted this characteristic as a mark of quality, stressing the importance of meeting such benchmarks as it continues to expand globally.

The timing of Digitain’s entry also coincides with renewed governance in the country’s regulatory framework. Earlier this year, the Belgian Gaming Commission confirmed its updated membership, with 12 full members and 12 alternates representing six government ministries in both Dutch and French. Their six-year tenure is expected to bring continuity to Belgium’s regulatory approach.

In addition, Belgium recently strengthened its international collaboration by signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Gambling Regulatory Authority of Ireland (GRAI). The agreement will facilitate regulatory knowledge-sharing and bolster communication standards, further underscoring the effectiveness of Belgium’s gaming oversight.

With its Belgian licence secured, Digitain continues to advance as a global iGaming provider, balancing local compliance with ambitious international growth.
