Merkur Expands UK Footprint with New Milton Keynes Casino

The casino is set to officially open its doors on Saturday, 1 November 2025.

Spanning 22,000 square feet, the new site will feature a 1,367 m² gaming floor equipped with 72 slot machines, 26 electronic roulette terminals, and 15 live gaming tables. Beyond gaming, Merkur is also investing in hospitality and events, with a 4,700 square foot bar and entertainment area designed to host live performances, community gatherings, and private functions.

Milton Keynes was chosen for the new opening due to its central location and the company’s long-standing ties to the area—Merkur’s UK head office is also based in the town. The new venue is expected to create over 100 jobs across gaming, hospitality, and management, with all recruits undergoing training through Merkur’s established development programmes. These initiatives aim to provide employees with long-term career opportunities within the business.

The company emphasized its commitment to supporting the local economy, with regional suppliers and contractors playing key roles in the construction and interior fit-out of the site. An official launch event will be held on opening day, featuring a ribbon-cutting ceremony, live entertainment, and a £10,000 cash prize draw for guests.

The Milton Keynes casino follows a period of significant growth for Merkur. Earlier this year, the company made its first entry into the Northern Ireland market through the acquisition of Oasis Retail Services. In September, Merkur also completed its acquisition of Gaming Arts, a deal initially announced in May, marking a strategic step toward rebuilding its North American presence.
