Paddy Power’s Bigger 180 Campaign Raises Over £1M for Prostate Cancer UK!
Paddy Power’s Bigger 180 campaign has reached a remarkable milestone, raising over £1 million for Prostate Cancer UK during the ongoing World Darts Championship.

The campaign combines high-stakes action on the dartboard with a powerful message about prostate cancer awareness, driving donations and engagement in the fight against the disease. Paddy Power has pledged £1,000 for every 180 scored during the tournament and £60,000 for each nine-darter—a rare feat in professional darts.

This year’s championship has seen two nine-dart finishes, each generating a £180,000 donation split among the charity, the player who achieved it, and a randomly selected fan in attendance. The latest nine-darter by Christian Kist in December 2024 added £60,000 to the charity’s total, underscoring the campaign’s unique ability to link memorable sporting moments with meaningful contributions. With tonight’s final showdown between Michael van Gerwen and Luke Littler still to come, additional donations are expected to push the total even higher.

Central to the campaign is its support for Prostate Cancer UK’s Transform Trial, a groundbreaking research initiative aimed at improving prostate cancer detection and treatment. Beyond financial contributions, the Bigger 180 campaign seeks to raise awareness about prostate cancer symptoms and screenings. It encourages 180,000 men to use Prostate Cancer UK’s 30-second risk checker, a vital tool for early detection and prevention.

The campaign also benefits from the involvement of six-time Olympic cycling champion Chris Hoy, who joined as an ambassador in December 2024. Hoy, diagnosed with stage-four prostate cancer last year, has become a vocal advocate for early detection, sharing his personal story to inspire others to take action. His role has brought additional visibility to the campaign, further amplifying its impact.

Building on the success of its predecessor, the Big 180 campaign in 2023, which also raised £1 million, Paddy Power’s efforts reflect the power of sport as a platform for social good. The initiative not only drives significant donations but also fosters broader awareness about prostate cancer, encouraging men to prioritize their health. Tonight’s final promises to cap off the campaign with yet another push for life-saving contributions.
