Paddy Power to Host Penalty Shootout for Euros Tickets!
Last update: 28 May, 2024
The renowned bookmaker has unveiled an exciting new marketing campaign that will see five lucky winners and their friends jet off in VIP style to witness the action live.
The winners of this unique contest will enjoy a VIP experience, traveling to the match aboard a chartered jet. Each winner can bring along three friends, making it an unforgettable experience for a total of 20 people. The match against Serbia is set to be a thrilling start to England’s campaign in the tournament.
Rachael Kane, a spokesperson for Paddy Power, expressed the company’s enthusiasm about the promotion. "As we hurtle towards the Euros, England remain firm favourites to win the 2024 tournament outright. If they succeed, it will be their first major tournament win since the 1966 World Cup,” Kane said.
The penalty shootout competition is scheduled for June 8 at Leyton Orient Football Club’s Brisbane Road stadium. Kane highlighted the appropriateness of the competition format, given England’s history with penalty shootouts. "They’ve lost seven out of nine penalty shootouts in major tournament finals. So, it feels only fitting that we put our potential passengers through their paces if they want to land a spot on Paddy’s exclusive jet. It doesn’t get fairer than that."
To participate in the contest, entrants must meet several criteria, including being over the age of 18 and registering in advance through the Paddy Power website. These terms and conditions ensure a fair and organized selection process.
“We’re kicking off the Euros party a couple of weeks early to find England’s greatest penalty-takers,” Kane continued. "Once we’ve found them, we’ll send footage of their technique straight to St. George’s Park so Southgate and Co. can take notes. We’ll then bring our lucky winners on a trip of a lifetime to Gelsenkirchen, which we’re reliably informed is somewhere near Düsseldorf."
This campaign comes on the heels of a recently scrapped promotional effort for Euro 2024, which faced backlash due to the inclusion of former Prime Minister Boris Johnson in a controversial manner. The new campaign promises to be more engaging and inclusive, focusing on the excitement of the game and the passion of the fans.
With this innovative approach, Paddy Power aims to celebrate the spirit of the Euros while giving fans a once-in-a-lifetime experience. The penalty shootout competition not only offers a fun and challenging way to win tickets but also brings the football community together in anticipation of one of the sport’s biggest events.
Football fans eagerly await the chance to showcase their skills and secure a spot on the exclusive trip, hoping to be part of England’s journey in the 2024 Euros. As the date approaches, excitement builds, and the prospect of watching England live in action fuels the competitive spirit among participants.
