In one of the main confrontations of the Brasileirao matchday 8, Flamengo will test the strength of Gremio!
Two consecutive victories over Corinthians (2:0) and Vasco da Gama (4:1) helped Flamengo settle at the top of the standings with 14 points and a goal difference of 13:6. But the Red-Blacks misfired in three duels in a row with Palmeiras (0:0), Botafogo (0:2) and Bragantino (1:1).
In a similar period of time, Gremio dealt with Atlético Paranaense (2:0) and Cuiaba (1:0), while losing 1:2 to Vasco da Gama, 0:1 to Bahia and 0:2 to Bragantino. The current thirteenth place with eight points and a goal record of 4:5 is in stark contrast to Gremio's performance last year when they finished second.
