Last update: 13 September, 2024
The groundbreaking ceremony for the facility, located in Cotai’s Concordia industrial zone, took place on Thursday and marked a major milestone for the company as it celebrated its 75th anniversary.
The new factory, which will cover an area of 25,000 square meters, is expected to be completed by 2026. This strategic expansion underscores Angel Group’s long-standing commitment to the Macau market. Yasushi Shigeta, Chairman and CEO of Angel Group, expressed his enthusiasm for the project, stating, “The completion of this factory has been a dream of Angel for many years and is a testament to our deep commitment to Macau and its future.”
The factory will focus on producing a range of gaming equipment tailored specifically for Angel Group’s clientele in Macau. This includes Angel playing cards, smart tables, and various other gaming technologies designed to meet the needs of the local market. Asuka Kurahashi, President and COO of Angel Macau Ltd, echoed this sentiment, highlighting the significance of the new facility: “Building a factory in Macau has been a dream we have harbored for many years, and it is finally coming to fruition.”
In addition to enhancing its operational capabilities, Angel Group’s new factory is expected to create numerous job opportunities for local skilled professionals and talents. Kurahashi emphasized the company’s dedication to contributing to the local community, noting, “We are committed to local talent development and will focus on training locals in the production of smart tables, artificial intelligence-based gaming equipment, and other advanced technologies.”
The timing of the factory’s construction aligns with recent efforts by Macau’s Labour Affairs Bureau to support the local gaming sector. The Bureau is currently hosting a job matchmaking session throughout September, aimed at connecting businesses with potential employees and fostering employment opportunities in the industry.
This development represents a significant investment in Macau’s gaming sector and reinforces Angel Group’s ongoing role in the region’s economic and technological advancement.
