BoyleSports Donates £10,000 to Bipolar UK After World Grand Prix
BoyleSports has made a significant donation of £10,000 ($13,000) to Bipolar UK, following the completion of the BoyleSports World Grand Prix darts tournament!

The donation, originally set to reflect the number of double 20 hits throughout the tournament, was increased from £7,300 to £10,000, providing additional support to the charity selected by darts player James Wade.

During the tournament, BoyleSports committed to donating £20 for every double 20 hit, with a total of 365 recorded across all matches, including the final winning dart by Mike De Decker. De Decker secured the World Grand Prix title after defeating Luke Humphries 6-4, with his final shot contributing to the tally of double 20s. This initially brought the raised amount to £7,300, but BoyleSports generously decided to round up the figure to £10,000 to enhance its impact on the cause.

James Wade, a well-known darts player and ambassador for Bipolar UK, played an active role in supporting the initiative. Wade, who has been open about his personal experiences with bipolar disorder, selected Bipolar UK as the beneficiary of the donation. Wade’s performance in the tournament, including 40 double 20 hits, contributed to the final donation amount. Although he reached the quarter-finals, Wade expressed his satisfaction with how the tournament's outcome has helped support the charity close to his heart.

“This is a fantastic gesture by BoyleSports, and on behalf of Bipolar UK, I’d like to thank them for their generosity,” Wade said. “This donation will make a difference in the valuable work they do and the support they provide to people living with bipolar. I would have loved to have won the BoyleSports World Grand Prix last week, but it’s a nice way to remember the tournament knowing that my double 20s contributed to helping the charity in this way.”

BoyleSports' Head of PR and Sponsorship, Sharon McHugh, also expressed the company's commitment to supporting mental health initiatives, emphasizing the importance of their partnership with Bipolar UK. “We are proud to support Bipolar UK with this £10,000 donation, helping to advance their vital work in supporting individuals affected by the condition. Mental health is an issue that touches many lives, and we hope this contribution furthers their mission to make a meaningful impact on awareness and support.”

Bipolar UK provides crucial resources, support services, and advocacy for individuals affected by bipolar disorder. With BoyleSports' donation, the charity will be able to continue its efforts to raise awareness and provide support to those who need it most. The contribution highlights the positive impact that partnerships between sports, charities, and corporate sponsors can have on addressing mental health challenges.
