MGA Warns Consumers About Unlicensed Gambling Websites
The Malta Gaming Authority (MGA) has issued a public warning regarding multiple unauthorised gambling websites that falsely claim to be licensed by the regulatory body.

The authority stressed that it has no affiliation with these platforms and that any references to an MGA licence on them are misleading and inaccurate.

The MGA identified the websites in question, including nagacash9x.com, nagacash9b.homes, nagacash9b.beauty, nagacash9b.online, and ebet.agency/en/faq, urging consumers to exercise caution. Players are advised to verify an operator’s licensing status before engaging with any online gambling service to avoid falling victim to unregulated platforms.

The regulator highlighted that licensed operators must comply with strict legal and regulatory requirements designed to protect consumers. These include measures ensuring fair gaming, responsible gambling policies, and financial safeguards. In contrast, unlicensed gambling websites operate outside regulatory oversight, posing significant risks to users, including unfair gaming practices, lack of responsible gambling measures, and potential financial losses due to unprotected transactions.

To assist consumers in making informed decisions, the MGA reiterated that its official website provides an updated list of legally authorised operators. Players are encouraged to consult this resource before engaging with any online gambling service to ensure they are dealing with a properly regulated entity.

This warning comes amid ongoing regulatory developments by the MGA, including a reduced number of gaming licences issued in 2023 and an increase in enforcement actions against non-compliant operators. The authority has intensified its efforts to safeguard the integrity of Malta’s gaming sector, ensuring that only operators meeting its stringent regulatory standards are permitted to offer gambling services under Maltese jurisdiction.

Additionally, the MGA continues to strengthen its international regulatory ties, recently collaborating with the UK’s Gambling Commission to enhance enforcement measures and improve oversight of cross-border gambling activities. These efforts align with the MGA’s commitment to ensuring a safe and fair gambling environment while protecting consumers from the risks associated with unregulated operators.
