Rangers are set to meet Viktoria Plzeň in the third qualifying round of the Champions League, with both sides hoping to edge closer to the coveted group stage.
The Scottish outfit, who reached the Europa League playoffs last season, now have their sights firmly set on the Champions League. Their recent form, however, has been mixed. After a solid display against Panathinaikos (2-0 win at home, 1-1 away), they were held to a 1-1 draw by Motherwell in the domestic league, raising questions about their consistency.
Viktoria Plzeň arrive in strong form. They've already played twice in the Czech league, hammering Pardubice 5-1 and drawing with Jablonec 1-1. More impressively, they overcame a first-leg deficit to knock out Servette (0-1, 3-1), showcasing resilience and attacking flair when it mattered most.
While I expect Rangers to show more intensity at home, recent performances suggest that Ibrox is no longer the fortress it once was. Plzeň's sharpness and momentum could pose real problems. A narrow win for Rangers is possible, but it wouldn't be surprising if the visitors leave Glasgow with a favorable result.
