On Saturday afternoon, Manchester City will face Tottenham in the headline clash of the second round of the Premier League.
City are in the midst of a generational transition, and this has already affected their consistency. In the summer, Guardiola’s men suffered a shocking 3–4 defeat to Al-Hilal in the Club World Cup round of 16. However, they started their domestic campaign strongly, brushing aside Wolverhampton 4–0 at the Etihad.

Historically, clashes between these two sides tend to be entertaining and high-scoring. While City remain the more prestigious and deeper squad, Tottenham’s newfound momentum makes them a tricky opponent. Still, with Guardiola at the helm and home advantage, the Citizens are justifiable favorites.
