Greece vs Denmark Prediction 8 September 2025

In the second round of Group C of the 2026 World Cup qualifiers, Greece and Denmark go head-to-head in what promises to be a closely contested encounter.

Greece is steadily returning to the ranks of Europe’s strongest sides and looks determined to secure a place at the World Cup. The team has been in impressive form recently, dismantling Belarus 5:1 in their opening qualifier. Earlier in the summer, they convincingly overcame Slovakia (4:1) and Bulgaria (4:0), while in March they prevailed over Scotland (0:1, 3:0) to earn promotion to Division B of the Nations League.

Denmark, meanwhile, competes at an even higher level in the Nations League. The “Scarlet Guard” reached the quarterfinals but fell to Portugal (1:0, 2:5). In preparation for the qualifiers, they tested themselves in friendlies against Northern Ireland (2:1) and Lithuania (5:0). Most recently, they were held to a goalless draw by Scotland in official competition.

Bookmakers rate the chances of both teams as roughly equal, which seems fair given their current trajectories. With stakes already high at this stage, neither side is likely to take unnecessary risks. A cautious, tightly fought battle seems more probable than a goal-filled spectacle.
