The fourth round of La Liga kicks off in Seville, where the struggling local side will host ambitious newcomers Elche.
Sevilla have been dealing with financial problems for several years now, which has prevented them from competing for European spots. After defeats to Athletic (2:3) and Getafe (1:2), followed by a win over Girona (2:0), the Rojiblancos sit 12th with three points and a balanced goal difference of 5:5.
Elche, on the other hand, have made a surprisingly solid start. They picked up draws against Betis (1:1) and Atletico (1:1), then defeated Levante (2:0), collecting five points to place seventh. While their long-term prospects suggest a slide down the table, the White-Greens have already shown they are ready to fight for survival.
At this stage, the teams look fairly evenly matched, but Sevilla will benefit from the backing of their home supporters. The hosts should at least avoid defeat in what promises to be a game with a moderate number of goals.
