Portugal vs Hungary Prediction 14 October 2025

The fourth round of the 2026 World Cup qualifiers continues in Lisbon, where Hungary will take on Portugal.

Portugal’s summer triumph in the Nations League has only reinforced their status as one of the world’s elite sides. Unsurprisingly, the Seleção have carried that momentum into World Cup qualifying, where they top Group F after dominant wins over Armenia (5–0), Hungary (3–2), and Ireland (1–0).

Hungary currently sit second in the group with four points and a 6–5 goal difference. The Magyars earned a vital 2–0 victory over Armenia in their last outing, but their campaign began shakily with a 2–2 draw against Ireland and a 2–3 loss to Portugal.

Given the quality gap between the two teams, Portugal should once again make their class count. The hosts are expected to control the game from start to finish, while Hungary’s well-known struggles away from home suggest that even a narrow defeat may be out of reach this time.
