The ninth matchday of the Premier League will open with a match between outsiders Leeds and West Ham.
As newcomers to the league, Leeds predictably holds a lowly sixteenth place with eight points and a goal-to-game ratio of 7:13. Since mid-September, the Peacocks have defeated Wolverhampton (3-1), drawn 2-2 with Bournemouth, and lost 0-1 to Fulham, 1-2 to Tottenham, and 0-2 to Burnley.
West Ham, meanwhile, has fared even worse – the only bright spot amidst defeats to Tottenham (0-3), Crystal Palace (1-2), Arsenal (0-2), and Brentford (0-2) was a 1-1 draw with Everton. Thus, the Hammers are only nineteenth with four points and a goal-to-goal record of 6:18.
West Ham are so bad that they're even considered the clear underdogs in this matchup. In my opinion, Leeds is capable of avoiding defeat against the Hammers, who are in such a crisis, and the game itself is unlikely to offer any goalscoring extravaganza.
