Palace arrive in excellent shape: fourth place, 26 points, and a 20:12 goal difference — a major step forward compared to last season. The Eagles have picked up strong recent wins away from home, beating Wolverhampton 2–0, edging Burnley 1–0, and overcoming Fulham 2–1. At Selhurst Park, however, they’ve looked a touch less convincing, drawing 0–0 with Brighton and falling 1–2 to Manchester United.

City, meanwhile, have surged back into the title conversation. Since the start of November, the Citizens have put together a statement run, defeating Liverpool 3–0, Leeds 3–2, Fulham 5–4, and Sunderland 3–0, with their only setback coming in a 1–2 loss to Newcastle. That form leaves them second on 31 points, with an imposing 35:16 goal record.

It’s hard to see Palace fully containing the league’s most potent attack, and backed by their home crowd they may be forced into a more proactive, risk-taking approach than usual. That kind of game state often opens the door at both ends — which makes both teams to score a very live angle.
