Stade Brestois 29 vs Olympique de Marseille Prediction 20 February 2026

Brest and Marseille will open the twenty-third round of Ligue 1 in a match that could test the ambitions of both sides.

Sitting 12th with 27 points and a 29–34 goal difference, Brest are experiencing a calm, mid-table season with little immediate pressure from either end of the standings. Their recent form has been mixed: a 2–0 win over Lorient, draws against Nice (2–2) and Lille (1–1), and defeats to Lyon (1–2) and Toulouse (0–2).

Marseille, by contrast, are battling near the top but have lost momentum after an explosive spell. Convincing victories over Angers (5–2) and Lens (3–1) were followed by a frustrating run of dropped points against Paris FC (2–2), a heavy 0–5 loss to PSG, and another draw with Strasbourg (2–2). Those results left the Provençal side fourth with 40 points and a 48–29 scoring record, now five points behind the top three.

Brest have proven to be a stubborn opponent on home soil and are capable of troubling even the league’s strongest teams. With Marseille struggling for consistency and confidence, this fixture may be far less straightforward than the table suggests, and another unexpected setback for the visitors cannot be ruled out.
