Ukraine vs Sweden Prediction 26 March 2026

An intriguing clash between Ukraine and Sweden stands out as one of the highlights of the first round of the 2026 World Cup qualifying playoffs.

Under Serhiy Rebrov, Ukraine haven’t always impressed in terms of style, but they’ve consistently delivered when it matters most. Key wins over Iceland (5–3, 2–0) secured second place in their group, while defeats to Belgium (1–3, 0–3) in the Nations League showed their limitations against elite opposition.

Sweden’s path has been quite different. Their strong showing in the Nations League’s third tier earned them a playoff spot after a disappointing qualifying campaign. Despite clear attacking potential, the Tre Kronor managed just two points from six matches against Slovenia, Kosovo, and Switzerland, exposing serious defensive issues.

With the match set to be played on neutral ground, neither side holds a clear advantage. Ukraine may offer more structure and composure, but Sweden’s unpredictability going forward makes them dangerous.

Given both teams’ defensive inconsistencies and ability to find the net, this looks like a game where chances will come at both ends. Even with a cautious approach, Ukraine and Sweden appear highly likely to trade goals.

Both teams to score 1.80
