Armenia vs Moldova Prediction 9 June 2026

A friendly match between the national teams of Armenia and Moldova will be held in Yerevan.

Both sides have struggled for results in recent years, but the hosts appear to have a slight edge heading into this encounter.

Armenia endured another disappointing World Cup qualifying campaign, finishing at the bottom of its group. The team's only victory came in a home match against Ireland, while defeats in the remaining fixtures ended any hopes of reaching the tournament. Despite those setbacks, Armenia has shown occasional flashes of quality and remains a competitive side on home soil. A recent draw against Kazakhstan followed a narrow defeat to Belarus, suggesting the team is capable of producing solid performances even if victories have been difficult to come by.

Moldova's qualifying campaign was even more challenging. The visitors collected just a single point from eight matches and struggled badly against stronger opposition. Their most painful result was a heavy defeat to Norway, highlighting the defensive problems that have plagued the team throughout recent years. Moldova has not recorded a victory since 2024 and continues to find it difficult to compete consistently at international level.

Neither side can be considered in strong form, but Armenia appears to have more attacking quality and a slightly higher ceiling overall. The support of the home crowd in Yerevan should also prove significant in what is expected to be a closely contested match between two evenly matched nations.

While a high-scoring encounter seems unlikely, Armenia looks better positioned to finally end its winless run and give its supporters something to celebrate.
