Qatar vs Switzerland Prediction 13 June 2026

Switzerland and Qatar will meet in the group stage of the 2026 FIFA World Cup in a matchup featuring two teams arriving at the tournament in vastly different form.

While Qatar will be hoping to rediscover the level that once made them a competitive force in Asia, Switzerland enters the competition looking like a side capable of progressing deep into the knockout rounds.

Qatar's recent performances have been disappointing. The former World Cup hosts have failed to win any of their last five matches, recording two draws and three defeats. More concerning is their lack of attacking production, with just one goal scored during that stretch. Draws against El Salvador and Syria offered little encouragement, while defeats to Ireland, Palestine, and Tunisia exposed ongoing difficulties in both attack and defense. Averaging only 0.2 goals per game over their last five outings, Qatar arrives at the tournament desperately searching for solutions in the final third.

Switzerland's preparations have been far more encouraging. The Europeans have scored nine goals in their last five matches and suffered only a single defeat. Victories and strong performances against quality opposition have highlighted their balance throughout the squad. A convincing win over Jordan, competitive displays against Germany and Australia, and solid defensive showings against Norway and Kosovo suggest that Switzerland is entering the World Cup with confidence and momentum.

Although Qatar won the only previous meeting between the sides back in 2018, that result carries little significance given the changes both teams have undergone since then. Based on current form, Switzerland appears superior in nearly every key area, particularly in attacking efficiency and overall consistency. If the Europeans perform to their usual standard, they should have enough quality to control the match and secure all three points.

Prediction: Switzerland to Win 1.78
