Germany vs Curacao Prediction 14 June 2026

Germany begin their 2026 World Cup campaign on June 14 with a Group E clash against tournament debutants Curaçao.

On paper, this looks like one of the most one-sided matchups of the opening round, as the Germans look to extend their impressive winning streak to 10 matches.

Julian Nagelsmann's side recovered brilliantly after a surprise 2-0 defeat to Slovakia at the start of qualifying. Germany responded by winning five of their remaining six qualifiers to top the group with 15 points, scoring 16 goals in the process. Their attacking firepower has been particularly impressive, highlighted by emphatic victories over Luxembourg (4-0) and Slovakia (6-0).

The momentum has continued in the build-up to the World Cup. Germany have won all four of their recent friendlies, scoring 12 goals across those matches. Convincing victories over Finland (4-0) and the United States (2-1) further underlined the team's attacking quality. Much of that threat comes from the creative trio of Jamal Musiala, Florian Wirtz, and Kai Havertz, while veteran goalkeeper Manuel Neuer is expected to return after recovering from a calf issue.

Curaçao have already made history by reaching the World Cup finals for the first time. Guided by Dick Advocaat, they navigated CONCACAF qualifying unbeaten and scored an impressive 28 goals in 10 matches. However, recent friendlies have exposed the gap between regional competition and elite international opposition. Defeats to China (0-2), Australia (1-5), and Scotland (1-4) suggest the Caribbean side may struggle against the world's top teams.

Although Curaçao possess several recognizable names, including Leandro Bacuna, Juninho Bacuna, Tahith Chong, Jürgen Locadia, and goalkeeper Eloy Room, the difference in overall quality and squad depth remains substantial.

Germany should dominate possession, create numerous scoring opportunities, and put Curaçao's defense under constant pressure. Given the form of Musiala, Wirtz, and Havertz, along with Germany's recent scoring record, Nagelsmann's men look well-positioned to open their World Cup campaign with a comfortable and potentially high-scoring victory.
