England vs Wales Prediction 9 October 2025
Added on 07 October, 2025
This Thursday, the legendary Wembley Stadium will stage a friendly between the England and Wales national teams.
England, as usual, had little difficulty qualifying for the 2026 World Cup, recording comfortable shutout victories over Latvia (3–0), Andorra (1–0, 2–0), and Serbia (5–0). Thomas Tuchel’s side did, however, suffer a surprise 3–1 defeat to Senegal in an unofficial match — a result that hardly undermines their status as one of the world’s strongest teams.
Wales, meanwhile, face more modest expectations. A successful World Cup campaign for the Dragons would likely mean reaching the tournament through the playoffs. Over the past six months, they’ve beaten Liechtenstein (3–0) and Kazakhstan (1–0), drawn 1–1 with North Macedonia, and lost to Belgium (3–4) and Canada (0–1).
Recent history strongly favors England, who have consistently come out on top against Wales in both competitive and friendly encounters. That trend should continue here, and the match itself is unlikely to turn into a goal fest.
