In another match of the Europa League round of 32, Lens and Freiburg will try to determine the strongest!
Three consecutive victories over Toulouse (2:0), Nantes (1:0) and Strasbourg (3:1) lifted Lens to sixth place in Ligue 1 with good chances of finishing in the European Cup zone. And the Blood-Golds' first entry into the Champions League in the last two decades ended in third place in a quartet with Arsenal, PSV and Sevilla.
For several years, Freiburg have remained a strong middle-tier team in the Bundesliga with European Cup ambitions. In the current Europa League campaign, the Vultures lost West Ham, but were ahead of Olympiacos and Bačka Topola. And prior to that they capitulated in all respects to Borussia Dortmund (0:3) on the national stage.
Both teams are approximately equal, so we will have a fairly competitive confrontation. We wouldn’t be surprised if Lens and Freiburg end up playing actively in attack and exchanging effective shots.
